Downloading & Saving Fonts

Downloading and saving fonts can actually be a pretty frustrating and confusing task if you have no experience with fonts whatsoever. I know, because I remember my first attempts at downloading fonts - it's only easy if you know how.

Step One

When you find a font you like, click on the font, or the download link. When the download box appears, click save and choose a part of your computer to save it to, where you'll be able to find the file again.

Step Two

The font file will be zipped which means you'll have to unzip it in order to use it. When you find the font file, right click on it and options will appear. Choose extract here and a new folder will be made, which will contain the now extracted font. Click on the font file (for example Base_02.ttf) and right click -> copy.

Step Three

Paste your new font in the fonts folder, this can be found by going to My Computer -> Control Panel -> Fonts. You can now delete the Winzip file you extracted the font from (as this takes up computer space) and the new file you made.
